Eligibility Criteria for WBP Jail Warder Examination 2023
Candidates who wish to apply for the WBP Jail Warder position must fulfill the following eligibility criteria:

Age limit

Educational Qualification:
Candidates must have passed Madhyamik Examination from West Bengal Board of Secondary Education or any other Board recognized by the State Government or the Central Government.
Physical Standards:
For Male Jail Warder
- For candidates must have a minimum height of 167 cm,
- For Gorkhas, Garhwalis, Rajbanshis and Scheduled Tribes Candidates must have a minimum height of 160 cm,
For Females Jail Warder
- For candidates must have a minimum height of 160 cm,
- For Gorkhas, Garhwalis, Rajbanshis and Scheduled Tribes Candidates must have a minimum height of 152 cm,

WBP Jail Warder Recruitment process And Exam Pattern
The recruitment process for the WBP Jail Warder position will be 4 stages. The details of each stage are as follows:
Written Test (Preliminary)
The Preliminary Written Test will consist of MCQ based objective-type questions. Based on
- General Awareness and General Knowledge- 25 Marks,
- Elementary Mathematics- 30 Marks,
- Reasoning- 10 Marks.
- English -25 Marks.
- Computer Literacy-10 Marks.
Physical Efficiency Test:
Selected and Eligible candidate will be called for a physical efficiency test. the test will consist of
- For Warder : – Long Distance Run – 1600 mtrs. (Qualifying time is 06 minutes 30 seconds)
- For Female Warder : – Long Distance Run – 400 mtrs. (Qualifying time is 1 minute 50 seconds).
Interview
- Only shootable candidates will be called for Interview in accordance with merit list.

Training and probation period
The selected candidates for the role of Lady Constable will undergo basic training at the West Bengal Police Training Academy. The training duration are 12 months.
