De.El.Ed training is mandatory as one of the qualifications for primary teaching. To participate in the Primary TET exam, one has to complete two years of DLed training first. This time West Bengal Board of Primary Education (WBBPE) will publish merit list centrally for admission to DLed College. As a result, it is believed that admissions can be stopped to some extent with sufficient money in the hands of the colleges.
West Bengal Board of Primary Education has taken several steps to stop irregularities in admission to D.L.Ed courses. Only online admission has been started centrally at the initiative of the board. The Board of Primary Education has completely stopped the offline admission process. This time the board will publish the merit list for admission. Now the West Bengal Board of Primary Education has taken over all the responsibility of DLD examination. Colleges will only manage the examination. Note that there are total 656 De.El.Ed colleges in West Bengal. Out of these 44 colleges are government and rest are private.
In the meantime, the notification of De.El.Ed second phase admission process has been published. The first phase application process has been completed till September 9. Total vacant seats this year are 45 thousand. Nearly 50,000 applications have been submitted. According to board sources, the application deadline may be extended if all the vacant posts are not filled. In this situation, the Board informed the High Court about the major steps.
