Union Ministry of Education launched ‘Skills on Wills’ initiative for the younger generation

A special initiative called ‘Skills on Wills’ has been launched by the Union Ministry of Education and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship to empower the youth of the country and improve their quality of life. Union Minister for Education and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Dharmendra Pradhan and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla jointly launched the initiative in New Delhi recently.

This initiative will be taken up by the Center in collaboration with National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and private bank IndusInd Bank. In this initiative, a specially constructed bus provided with ‘retrofit tool’ will go to different remote areas of the country to teach the youth skills in various subjects. Which will make them suitable for their present job field. Women will be given special priority in this regard. They will be taught the areas of digital skills that are currently essential for employment, so that they can live independently.

This free training program will help the students to improve their theoretical knowledge and on-the-job skills. In this way, the aim of launching the ‘Skills on Wills’ initiative is to improve the quality of rural life by empowering about 60,000 youth in the country in the next five years. As a result, the students can choose the courses related to the profession they are interested in for higher education.
